Vindicated!!!!
Ever since the movie Brokeback Mountain opened in our area my husband and I have had several heated debates over this movie. I want to see it; he does not. I don’t mind going to the show with out him however; I do take issue with his reasons for not seeing it. He claimed that the marketing campaign was deceptive and that the story was deceptive. I called BS. I told him that the trailer we saw months ago was up front and left no doubt what this show was about. I then proceeded to shower him with my many arguments as to why I felt he was being a bit closed minded all of which have been articulated verbatim by Leonard Pitts in today’s opinion section of the Tribune.
Had it not been for my husband I never would have seen the article but being the wonderful man he is he suggested that I may want to take a look at it. You see, typically I don’t read the opinion section because it usually has only to do with politics, my least favorite subject. Anyway, today was the exception. I owe Mr. Pitts a big thank you because he was able to get my husband to reconsider accompanying me to the show.
